Alright, so we did Osaka, we did Nara, but we still hadn’t set foot in Kyoto! But after all the airplanes and roller-coasters and otaku electronic stores and deer and giant Buddhas, we were both sick with sore throats and runny noses and just wanted a leisurely day of shopping in the old city. Sada wanted to go to her favorite store LOFT and David wanted to hunt down his favorite shoe store Dragonbeard in the famous shopping district of Kyoto called Kawaramachi. So we loaded up our Kleenex and went!

Almost immediately we found an awesome retro novelty shop called NeoMart. David found some awesome watches and ended up buying one for ¥3000.

Then Sada found her favorite store. We looked at many cool things like frying pans with panda faces and stickers with cussing robots on them. David also found his shoes there, but they were chotto takai (a bit too expensive).

We ended the day at our old stomping ground and favorite Italian fast food restaurant Saizeriya. We missed the pepperoncinos and free refills and good ‘ol fashion foreign menu comedy.

Dude, don’t knock Tomato & Mozzarella salad. I had that for dinner LAST NIGHT!
